Date Stamps and Captions
Select camera dates, captions, or text overlays that distract from a photo.
FREE ONLINE PHOTO CLEANUP TOOL
Cleanup pictures online for free with AI. Select unwanted captions, date stamps, labels, or small objects, and EraseKit will try to fill the area using the image around it. No software installation is needed.
CLEAN UP PHOTOS IN YOUR BROWSER
Text can cover the part of a picture you want to keep. Select the unwanted area and EraseKit will try to fill it using the visible image around it.
Select camera dates, captions, or text overlays that distract from a photo.
Try removing an unwanted label from a product picture or text from a screenshot. Avoid covering details you need to keep.
Mark the area with the same EraseKit editor used for unwanted objects. No separate tool or installation is needed.
Check the fill closely. Fine text or a busy background can leave marks or look different from the rest.
TEXT, MARKS, AND SMALL DISTRACTIONS
You can try to remove text from a photo, a screenshot, or a product picture without cropping the whole image. Common examples include date stamps, an old caption, a label, or words over a background.
Brush over the complete text and any outline or shadow that should go. The AI replaces the marked pixels with a generated fill based on nearby colors and shapes. It cannot reveal the exact pixels hidden under the text.
Use the editor to try removing an unwanted object or distracting background detail from travel photos, personal pictures, or product images. For example, you might select a small passerby, a stray item on a table, or a mark near the edge.
A smaller selection with a simple background is often easier to reconstruct. For a logo or watermark, only edit images you own or have permission to change.
HOW TO USE ERASEKIT
Start in the editor near the top of this page. You do not need to install complicated software.
Add a PNG, JPG/JPEG, or WEBP file to the editor.
Brush over the unwanted text or object, including its outline if needed.
Choose Erase object and wait for the browser to process the selection.
Look for leftover marks, soft patches, or changed details around the area.
Save the edited file if the result works for your needs.
Go to the EraseKit editor or read the guide to cleaning up pictures for more selection tips.
TIPS FOR BETTER RESULTS
A little care when marking an area can help the fill blend in.
Include all the letters or object edges. A leftover outline can still be visible.
If a shadow or outline should disappear, include it in the selection too.
Keep nearby faces, logos, lines, and objects outside the marked area if you want to preserve them.
Plain walls or open sky are usually easier to reconstruct than busy patterns or detailed scenes.
TEXT, OBJECTS, AND THE AREA BEHIND THEM
Yes. If a caption, date stamp, or label is baked into a PNG, JPG, or WebP image, select the visible pixels and let the image inpainting model generate a fill from nearby context. This keeps the canvas intact, but it cannot reveal the exact scene that was hidden beneath the text.
Image inpainting is a form of filling masked regions in an image. This CVPR research paper on image inpainting provides technical background on the task.
If the words are on a separate editable layer in a design file, remove or edit that layer in the original project when possible. EraseKit works with image files; it changes selected image pixels rather than editing text in a layered design.
Cropping can also be simpler when the mark sits at the edge and removing it will not cut off anything important. For a centered caption or an object within the scene, inpainting may preserve more of the composition.
A QUICK CHECK BEFORE YOU TRY AGAIN
A visible patch usually means the selected area left too little useful context or included details you wanted to keep. Review these points before another attempt:

EDIT A MATCHING SET
Load up to 30 images, make a selection on one, and use Apply to All to repeat it at the same relative position on the others. This can help with a date stamp or label that stays in the same place across a set.
The editor repeats the selection coordinates. It does not follow text or objects that move between pictures, so edit changing areas separately.
Try the editorWHAT TO EXPECT
AI may leave visible marks or create an unnatural patch when text covers detailed textures, faces, or important objects. Large selections and busy backgrounds are harder because there is less nearby context to use.
The editor may soften details or repeat a texture. Review the result carefully and try a smaller, more accurate selection if appropriate. A clean result is not guaranteed, and the hidden original pixels cannot be recovered.
YOUR IMAGE, YOUR DEVICE
EraseKit processes images in your browser; the image editing operation does not upload your photo to an EraseKit processing server. Your browser still loads the website and the model resources needed for editing. Site analytics and other data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Upload a supported image in the editor above, select the unwanted area, run Erase object, and review the result. EraseKit is free to use in your browser.
Use the brush to cover all the text and a small part of its edge, then run the AI removal. It will try to fill the selection using nearby image details.
Yes. Select the text area and let the editor try to reconstruct what is behind it. Results depend on the background, so inspect the repaired area.
Yes. Select the complete date stamp, including its outline or shadow if needed. A stamp over a simple corner background is usually easier to fill.
You can select text in a screenshot and try inpainting. Small text over a plain area is a better fit than text covering interface details, icons, or other important content.
Yes. Select small distractions such as a passerby or an item in the background. Large objects and complex scenes can be harder to reconstruct.
It may. The AI generates replacement pixels, and sometimes the filled area looks soft, repeated, or unnatural. Check the result at full size before downloading.
Yes. You can load up to 30 images and use Apply to All when the unwanted area is in the same relative position. The selection does not track text or objects that move.
Yes. You can use the editor without an account or subscription. Your browser downloads the resources needed to run the editor.
